(...In front of the Bakery...)

Ulquiorra stumbled into me, startled by the sudden blow of Juro's fist. I helped him regain his balance, and pulled him into the bakery before anything could happen. I didn't want Ulquiorra to cause a scene or anything. Or for him to get injured more.

I forced Ulquiorra onto a seat. "Don't go out there." I told him. He looked up at me with a busted lip. It was bleeding.

"I could have killed him." Ulquiorra muttered. His hands went up to his lip, and he looked at his bloody fingertips. "Tch, I'm bleeding."

Tencho walked in, holding cake and froze. "Who is that, and why is he bleeding?" He was wearing his chef uniform, and he had flour on his face.

"He's my friend, and he got punched for helping me." I told him, getting a few napkins from the table.

Tencho put the cake into the display glass, and frowned. "Maybe the uniform was too short."

I went on my knees to get on Ulquiorra's level and started to wipe the blood off of Ulquiorra's lips, but he winced and pulled away. "Don't do that." he said.

"But it'll dry up." I said, wiping it again.

"It does not matter." Ulquiorra said pulling away.

"Yes it does!" I said, and stood up. I held his face so he couldn't pull away anymore. He didn't move. He stared at me, and I tried to ignore his green eyes as I wiped the blood off his lips.

When I was done, I awkwardly let go of him and threw away the napkin.

"Don't go outside dressed like that." Ulquiorra said.

"But it's the bakery uniform."

"What are you doing here anyway?" Ulquiorra asked, looking around the bakery.

"I should be asking you that." I said. "How did you know I was here?"

"I was awake, when you left your room to get ready." Ulquiorra replied. "I pretended to sleep."

Darn, I guess I was too loud. "You followed me?"

"I didn't follow you, I found you." Ulquiorra corrected. "And you are lucky I found you at the right time." He narrowed his eyes.

"I could have shooed them away." I lied.

Ulquiorra looked down at my skirt. "Not in that."

I yanked the skirt down and blushed. "It isn't that short."

"Then what is?"

I opened my mouth to speak, but Ulquiorra spoke to tencho. "Is there a possibility you could maybe change the uniform? Or else, I don't want onna to work here."

"Ulquiorra-kun!" I gasped. "Nonono it doesn't matter tencho I'll work here even if you can't-"

"It's not a problem. I'll do it as soon as I can. Tomorrow by the latest." tencho nodded, stepping into the kitchen.

I looked at Ulquiorra. "You almost got me fired on the first day."

He shook his head. "He would not fire you."

"I almost couldn't get free sweets." I said.

"I hate sweet things." Ulquiorra said. "Except some tea, and taiyaki."

I rolled my eyes. "Taiyaki."

(...Back to the day of the Amusement Park...)

Tatsuki finally looked exhausted and happy enough. She collapsed on a bench. I remained standing with Ulquiorra.

"You guys are awfully close-looking, you know that?" Tatsuki said leaning back on the bench, her legs crossed. She was still in her school uniform.

"Old friend." I said. It was technically true.

"Yeah? I guess Ichigo and him were old friends too?" Tatsuki asked.

I glanced at Ulquiorra. "Uh-huh."

"How come Schiffer-kun didn't ride anything?" Tatsuki asked.

Ulquiorra looked at Tatsuki, and spoke low. "I don't like the rides." His hands were shoved in his pockets and he looked bored.

"Then how come you suggested the amusement park?"

"They don't have much of them where he's from." I quickly filled in. "He wanted to see one."

"Where is he from?"

Boom. I didn't know how to answer that. Where was he from? Hueco Mundo, from a bunch of hollows? I couldn't tell Tatsuki that! Who is his daddy? Aizen?!

I decided to faint.

I woke up, and sat up. I must have fell asleep from fake fainting and closing my eyes for so long.

"You are awake." Ulquiorra said. He was on the floor, watching me. Kind of creepy, especially because it was dark too.

"Turn on the lights." I said. "And, what happened to Tatsuki?"

Ulquiorra turned on a small lamp and sat back down. "I told her she could go, but she insisted on following us home. I told her I would take care of you. It was a lot of convincing."

I sighed. "I fainted so we didn't have to answer the question."

"You could have warned me." Ulquiorra said.

"Where are you from, anyways?" I asked.

"Hueco Mundo." Ulquiorra replied. "I was born from hollows."

I was right, that was not a very good answer. Even if Tatsuki was not good at her geography, she'd probably ask even more questions trapping us in a corner.

I laid back down, and pulled Ulquiorra's covers up to my chin. The covers smelled really good. I felt like I was in his arms. "Hueco Mundo, huh?" I repeated, trailing off.

I let my mind wander off, until I remembered how Ulquiorra was about to confess to me. My eyes sprang open, and my eyes met Ulquiorra's. I blushed and hid my face under the blanket.

Was he really going to confess to me? Or was he going to say something else, and was only teasing me?

I didn't know how to feel. He made me confused. I didn't know what to think of him. I found myself always hesitating when people would ask who he was to me. Who was he to me? A friend? No, that was not it... We were more than friends, but less than a couple. I don't really think Ulquiorra could like me that way either. But he was always doing things to make my heart skip a beat. He made my heart beat faster, and he looked like he was enduring everything for me.

I pulled the covers down and looked at Ulquiorra. "What are you to me?" I asked straight out.

He looked surprised by the question. "What do you mean?"

"What are we? Friends? Enemies?" I asked.

"What do you want us to be?" Ulquiorra asked.

I stared at the ceiling. "I don't know." I didn't know how to feel. If I did like him, I don't think I would have admitted it. What if he didn't like me back? Even so, I should confess if I did like him, right? I should let him know... But I didn't like him. I didn't hate him either. I liked him like I liked my... No, I didn't like him like I liked my onii-chan. I didn't like him like I used to like Ichigo either. Yet, I felt protective and affection. I wanted to know everything about him, yet I can't. I felt like I could help him, but I might not be helpful.

"Do not fuss, onna." Ulquiorra said.

I looked at him.

"Do not worry about what we are." Ulquiorra repeated.

My heart felt like it was ripping. Did he not care? Was this just all a game? What happened to my resolve? Wasn't I supposed to be ready when he left me? So why was I in pain when he told me not to worry? Some part of me wanted him to say something. Was my resolve this weak? It was shaking, and trembling from one sentence.

"O-okay." I said, swallowing the lump in my throat. My eyes burned as I tried to hold back tears.
I think I might end it soon. No ideas :C

01/12/12 EDIT: Hah wtf am I saying ^ I have an abundance of ideas. I'll probably continue this for like ten more chapters :D

Realization to her should come maybe in a dream. Let her fall asleep with 1000 questions in her mind and then in the dream she sees Kurosaki and Ulquiorra n there she realizes her true feelings. So when she wakes up, she knows her heart for sure.
